Yellow Magic Orchestra
BGM: Collector's Vinyl Edition

Listening notes

Yellow Magic Orchestra's BGM appears here in a 2019 vinyl edition released on the Alfa label under catalog number MHJL 75~76. The release presents the album across two records, with its ten tracks distributed across four sides.

The sequencing follows a straightforward layout. Side A opens with "Ballet," "Music Plans," and "Rap Phenomena," each running four minutes and thirty seconds. Side B carries "Happy End" at the same duration before closing with "1000 Knives," which extends the side to five minutes and twenty seconds. Side C holds "Cue," "U·T," and "Camouflage," all at four minutes and thirty seconds, while Side D concludes the set with "Mass" at four minutes and thirty seconds and "Loom" at five minutes and twenty seconds.

The album falls within the electronic and synth-pop genres, and the two-record format accommodates the full program with consistent track durations across most of the running order. The slightly longer "1000 Knives" and "Loom" stand as the two exceptions, each at five minutes and twenty seconds, and both occupy the closing position on their respective sides.

For collectors and researchers working from catalog records, this edition is documented under Alfa's numbering system as MHJL 75~76. The 2019 release date places it among relatively recent vinyl pressings of the title rather than among original-era issues.
