Zygos
SFG

Listening notes

Zygos released SFG on the Rarefied label in 2018, issued under catalog number RARE9. The record is a vinyl release spanning three tracks across two sides, working within the dubstep and electronic genres.

The A-side is given entirely to the title track, "SFG," which runs four minutes and forty-one seconds. The B-side carries two tracks: "Forward" at three minutes and forty seconds, and "Late Nigh Escort" closing the record at five minutes and two seconds. The total runtime across all three pieces comes to just over thirteen minutes.

The single-track A-side and two-track B-side configuration is a common approach for this format, allowing the title cut its own dedicated space while the flip accommodates the remaining material. At five minutes and two seconds, "Late Nigh Escort" is the longest piece on the record, ending the B-side as the most extended offering in the set.

Rarefied, the releasing label, is reflected in the catalog sequence through the RARE prefix, with RARE9 placing this release at the ninth entry in that series. The year of release, 2018, situates the record within a period when vinyl continued its sustained commercial resurgence across electronic music markets, though no specific context for this particular release within that broader moment can be drawn from the available facts alone.

The genres listed, dubstep and electronic, mark the general territory the record occupies without narrowing further into subgenre specifics beyond what the documentation confirms.
