Renzo Arbore
Vinyl Renzo

Listening notes

Renzo Arbore's *Vinyl Renzo*, released in 2008 on the Italian label Fonè (catalog number 023), is a double-album vinyl release catalogued under the genres of Canzone Napoletana and Folk, World, & Country. The record spreads eight tracks across four sides, a format that gives each selection its own unhurried place in the sequence.

The tracklist moves between Italian and English, and in at least one instance blends both within a single title. Side A opens with "Na Sera 'E Maggio" and continues with "'O Sarracino," two titles rooted in the Neapolitan repertoire. Side B pairs "Resta Cu' Mme" with "Stay Here With Me," an English-language title that mirrors the preceding track's apparent theme of staying or remaining — whether the two are versions of the same song or simply adjacent in mood, the sequencing invites the question. Side C offers "Smorza 'E Llights," a title that fuses Neapolitan dialect with an English word, followed by "I Know It's Over." Side D closes the record with "Non Dimenticar" and "Quando Un Cantante E' Triste."
