Seasick Steve
Only On Vinyl

Listening notes

Seasick Steve's *Only On Vinyl* arrived in 2022 on There's A Dead Skunk Records, carrying the catalog number DSR0043LP. Released in the blues genre, the record presents eight tracks spread across two sides, with a total runtime that settles comfortably into standard album territory.

Side A opens with "Put That In Your Pipe" at four minutes and forty-six seconds, followed by "Hobo Low," the longest track on the record at five minutes and twenty-one seconds. "Crash And Burn" extends to five minutes and forty-three seconds, making it the album's lengthiest cut, before Side A closes with "How Do You Do" at four minutes and sixteen seconds.

Side B carries a notably consistent pace. "Down On The Farm 2 (For Simon)" leads at four minutes and thirty-two seconds, succeeded by "Soul Food" at four minutes and nineteen seconds. "Train Wreck" runs four minutes and forty-eight seconds, and the record closes with "Blue Room" at four minutes and ten seconds. The subtitle appended to "Down On The Farm 2 (For This)" — "(For Simon)" — is the one track title detail that stands apart from the rest, though the significance of that dedication is not addressed within the available information.

The title *Only On Vinyl* is a straightforward statement of the release's format exclusivity, positioning the record as something conceived specifically for the medium rather than arriving as a companion to a digital or CD counterpart. Whether that framing carries additional context beyond what the title itself asserts is not something the available facts can speak to.

There's A Dead Skunk Records serves as the issuing label, a name that fits the unpolished aesthetic often associated with Seasick Steve's broader artistic identity, though any direct connection between the two is not something this draft can confirm.
